Sudatel Telecom Group organizes Social Support Activities Forum
Sudatel Telecom Group has organized social support activities forum in Friendship Hall on the 31st of January 2010 under the auspice of the Vice President H. E Ali Osman Mohamed Taha. During the forum, the founder of the social support activities Eng. Abd Al Aziz Osman met the representatives of the Non – governmental organizations, companies and factories that have participated in implementing the various social activities.
While addressing the forum, H. E. Ali Osman Mohamed Taha called for enhancing good values and human principles. “Sudatel Telecom Group provides telecommunication services for the benefit of the whole Sudanese and supports other human development sectors such as education, health, orphans care activities “said H. E Ali Osman Mohamed Taha adding that Sudatel is a symbol for other companies.
The Vice President further elaborated that Sudatel Telecom Group success is the result of privatization policy that has been criticized by many people at the beginning. H. E Ali Osman Mohamed Taha hailed, on behalf of the President of the Republic, the huge participation of Sudatel Telecom Group in the economy and social life in Sudan.
Sudatel Telecom Group Executive President Eng. Amad Aldden Hussein said in the forum that the social support activities are more than 10 years old now.
The social support activities cost is about 53.699.228 pounds that have been used in a balanced and transparent manner to cover the needs of the citizens in many places all over Sudan.
In the field of water services Sudatel has implemented 357 projects that includes rehabilitating wells, water yards, water tanks and water networks with a total cost of 10.117.659 pounds.
In the field of health services Sudatel has focused on supporting national hospitals that provide health services to patients from all over Sudan. However the group has supported rural medical centres with equipments and other needs. Sudatel has implemented 91 health projects with a total cost of 10.858.606 pounds
In the field of education Sudatel has participated in building students hostels, providing seats for students, providing schools’ labs and students notebooks. The number of education projects is 46 with a total cost of 23.727.197 pounds.
In addition to that Sudatel Telecom Group has provided support to 5949 orphans with a total cost of 2.863.925 and provided support to elders’ homes and Quran schools.
It is to be noted that the social support activities forum has been honoured by the presence of senior ministers as the Minister of Social Welfare Mrs. Samia Ahmed Mohamed, the Minister of State for Finance Mr. Tarig Shabi.
During the forum a movie that reflects the various Sudatel social support activities has been played.
At the end of the forum, Sudatel Telecom Group has honoured the founder of social support activities Eng. Abd Al Aziz Osman and the various Sudanese organizations and companies that have participated in the social support activities.
